Bio

Wilbur, in its earliest stages, began as a three-piece in 2004, but was fleshed out over the years with new members. Currently, the band is comprised entirely of 16- and 17-year-old high school students who have achieved a level of artistic sophistication and indie attention disproportionate to their ages.

Wilbur is comprised of vocalist Simon Tangney, drummer Tommy Davis, guitarrists Kieran Kriss and Greg Wyler and bass player Matt Bevilacqua. All members hail from Rockville Center except Davis, who lives in Plainview. They perform regularly at Rockville Center's Vibe Lounge.

The band thrives on a tasteful blend of retro garage rock and contemporary indie influences. Currently, they have one release, 2006's "A Demonstration." An EP is anticipated to arrive in late August 2007.

Wilbur sports a number of early achievements: first place in Central Synogouge's Battle of the Bands in Rockville Centre, first place in Mercy High School's Battle of the Bands in Riverhead, songs played on RadioXposed, an interview and song broadcast on 30A Radio in Florida and a featured position on bandoftheweek.com.
